Boards are fundamental to the structure of a corporate organization. However, nonprofit boards are as
diverse as the organizations they govern. An organization’s effectiveness depends on the following factors:
- The board’s level of education with regards to nonprofits and the organization itself.
- The level of commitment among board members.
- Board diversity and representation.
- How board members exercise leadership.
- How well the board understands how to represent the “ownership” of the organization.
- The board’s trust among the community.
Peak will provide the necessary resources in order for boards to better understand the governing process
and how to work most effectively. Peak will also develop strategies to deal with more complex issues such
as board structure, succession or the relationship between the director and the board. A well-structured and
active board is the key to nonprofit success.
